Dr. Appollus Nna Buloh was one of Ogonis finest living statesmen. He was full of
live and ingenuity. He was an Ogoni ambassador anywhere he found himself. We witnessed this in Ogoni during his tenure as
Assistant Secretary General of MOSOP. During the government and Shell Oil invasion of Ogoni, Dr. Buloh through his diplomacy
left indelible legacies in the minds of all living sons and daughters of Ogoni. He defended Ogoni and saved lives and stood
by his kiths and kins. His statesmanship and diplomacy was also at work when Ogonis were forced into Benin Republic as refugees.
He stood shoulder to shoulder with the forces of the government of Republic of Benin (Who were under pressure to expel Ogoni
refugees). Dr. Buloh set up camp government and Coordinated the over 4000 Ogoni refugees that arrived in 1996. Every step
of his leadership was admired. He would be remembered to be partly responsible for the acceleration of the resettled of Ogoni
refugees in various countries of the world.
We would also be remembering Dr. Buloh as a teacher,
counselor, Christian and father. He was always using his ingenuity in designing and creating programs that would be beneficial
to Ogoni.During the period of psychological depression of his people, this pacesetter was there helping to defuse Ogoni depression.
Although death is nasty and brutish and inflicts agony in the hearts of the bereaved, we take solace in God and the
good deeds of our father – Dr. Appollus Nna Buloh and pray that God would reward him with eternity.
He may have departed to glory, it is our joy that Dr. Buloh lived a fulfilled live and his legacies and contributions
are engraved in stone.
Ogoni nationality may have witnessed the cool hand of death in abundance
in the last decade, but we hope death wouldn’t be proud because Dr. Appollus Nna Buloh lives and Ogoni MUST Survive.
